GRS achieve recognition by DEFRA - July 2010
GRS have received recognition as part of the DEFRA National Flood Rescue Strategy. At present the team has reached Type B Rescue Boat Team status, but will work towards achieving a Type C team in the future.

GRS provide assistance in Saddleworth Search - March 2010
GRS have being assisting with the search for the missing child Keith Bennett. This is an ongoing operation and further information on GRS's role will be provided shortly. 5 Team Members completed Powerboat course - January 2010
5 Team members have just completed their RYA Level 2 Powerboat course funded by the Small Lottery Awards. Pictures to follows.

Request for Assistance from Saudi Arabia - December 2009
A request was made by the Saudi Authorities for assistance following mud slides in Jeda. An 18 person team were ready to deploy but no final green light was given by the Authorities to deploy.

Request for Assistance for missing person - November 2009
A request was made by Dyfed Powys Police for assistance in the search for a missing person reported to have fallen in the water. As the team were waiting for the water level to drop to a safe level, the person was found four days later.

Request for Assistance during Flooding - November 2009
The GRS Water Search Dog team were requested by Cumbria Police to assist with the search for a missing Police Officer. As the team were mobilising, they were stood down as the missing person was found.

Team Member assist the Croatian Rescue Services - 14th June 2009
Whilst in Croatia at the IKAR Conference, Team members were deployed today to assist with the search for an Alzheimer's victim. Details here.

3 GRS Members in Croatia - June 2009
Team members from GRS are currently in Croatia giving a presentation to the IKAR Dog Handlers Conference on Water Search and Cadaver work. Details here.

GRS receive donation from the Medical Warehouse - June 2009
GRS have received a spine board as a donation from the Medical Warehouse. This will give us more options when rescuing our patients. A big thank you to them for their support.

Team Leader Assesses Water Search Dogs in Spain - May 2009
Team Leader, David Jones has just returned from Can Padro (near Barcelona) Spain where he was acting as an independent assessor for dogs and handlers undergoing a 3 week water search and detection course. The course was organised by IDDT (International Detector Dogs Teams) and run by Mick Swindells, who has been instrumental in many training session with GRS dogs in the past.

The Human Remains Dogs and Handlers have been deployed twice this month for searches in Britain. As these are ongoing investigations details unavailable at this time.

GRS Member Deployed - July 2008

GRWIT Deployed - June 2008
GRWIT deployed to perform a thorough search of the upper Afon Llygwy for a missing person. Nothing found. Details on the missing peron can be found here.
